I have a Kobo (I'm pretty sure it's the Touch 2.0..not 100% sure though) and I couldn't find the charger for a while so I hadn't used it in about a year. I just found it today, charged it about halfway, and tried plugging it into my laptop.
I did a full factory reset, restarted my laptop twice, and tried unplugging and plugging in the cable again, and my laptop (Mac) still won't show the device in Finder. It just doesn't show up at all even though the Kobo says it's connected to the computer. The Kobo contact form is absolute shit and wouldn't even let me submit anything. Anyone have this problem too? Idk what to do.

Best Pdf Reader For Mac
I have an HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 8.1
It's been acting up lately (aka, taking forever to start up and getting many blue screens), but I've just run a virus scan, removed a bunch of malware and also uninstalled unnecessary programs to try to speed things up.
In the meantime, I'd like to read some books from on my 1st Gen Nook. In the past, I've downloaded the books online, opened them in Adobe Digital Editions and plugged my Nook into the USB. Then I'll hear a beep and my Nook will show up on Adobe. Then I simply drag and drop the book into my Nook. Now, though, when I plug the Nook into the USB it will charge, but my computer isn't recognizing the Nook. It won't show that anything is plugged in.

I've tried restarting both devices as well as the Adobe program.
Xmind reader for mac. Any idea if this is a computer issue that can be fixed? Or is it an issue with my Nook?
